Sorry to pick nits here, but...

While in one narrow sense this statement ("Macs are Y2K compatible") is accurate, it really only focuses on one side of the equation... the CPU & the operating system. Left out of this statement is the applications.

To blindly accept that Macs are Y2Kok is too simplistic. Unfortunately there are probably plenty of people who believe their Mac is ok & they will be muy surprised when their application goes south.

Of particular danger are applications that began life under DOS, say built with an xBase file system & then have been ported to Mac & Windows. Given the popularity of the xBase language family, I would assume there are several thousand widely installed applications at risk.
