Netscape's harshest critic: A 'brilliant move' www5.zdnet.com Nah, Reggie hasn't seen the light. This "harshest critic" is Bruce Smith of Merril Lynch. As a follower of the hearts and minds front, the more I think about it the more I got to agree with Sal and this Smith guy. Nothing like source code to warm the hearts of geeks and nerds everywhere. Also from zdnet: Netscape's survival guide www5.zdnet.com which talks about retrenchment on the Java front. Apparently Netscape is sort of behind the curve there and is planning on falling back toward direct plug-in of Sun & other Java stuff. A reasonable move, for standardization and stability if nothing else. Disconcerting that things had slipped so much, though. Cheers, Dan.
