I very much agree with this. If only I could get SYQT to go down just 1/2 a point, I'd buy. SYQT has shown in the past that even a hint of good news will send the price up considerably %-wise. The Iomega ad barrage will surely bring more awareness to the sector, and SYQT among others can't help but reap some of the rewards-- even if Iomega's entire campaign focuses on branding the ZIP. Once people are in the stores, salesmen, side-by-side comparable products, signage and shelf space all enter the picture. If newbie users see $199 for Zip Plus and SparQ, they may ask the salesman what the difference is between them. After the salesman explains that SparQ has 10 times the storage space, I think that some people who go in for a Zip will walk out with a SparQ. Not every time..not most of the time..but some of the time. And this is all it will take to vastly improve Syquest sales.

I personally could care less whether IOM and SYQT go up or down (when I'm not invested in them). I bought a Syjet because it was a much better value than Jaz. I plan to buy an Orb for the same reason. I have no brand loyalty when it comes to this sector. I'm sure a lot of other people the Iomega ad campaign will reach feel the same way I do.
