"Market makers" weren't doing much of the buying, or else we should have seen much more of a price drop steadily throughout the day. The specialists on the NYSE are only supposed to keep things orderly (BTW, "Market makers" on Nasdaq are different than the NYSE's specialists, aren't they?)

Stock bull, maybe i'm wrong, but i was under the impression that
we have one specialist, who is the equivalent of mm's in naz,
and that is it. Someone bought the shares, investors, the specialist,
friends of the specialist, hell, maybe soros didn't sell and HE
bought up shares from all the sissy houses with no vision (*Yipe!*)

I don't think there are orphaned shares that have to get vacuumed up
by various firms because no one wanted them...

I hope i haven't made a bigger @ss outta myself than normal with the above (mis?)information...
