I was born and grew up in south LA and MS until 12 yrs old... I was envious of people who could actually experience snow and mountains, then I was dragged up to TN where I experienced snow and ice and 20 below wind chill factors

While the snow can be fun and pretty, and I love the movie Jeremiah Johnson, I have to admit I really love living in a subtropical climate for the past 30 years... I also love living in a city where if I had to I would not even need a car.. I could walk or bike to any and all needs... sadly this is one of our problems, rural america is getting fucked over, and yet they think Trump is on their side... guns and religion their main talking points... yukkk

As a kid, I lived in a Chicago suburb. I would walk to school through the lake effect snow wearing two pair of jeans. When I got there, I'd give the outer, frozen pair to the school nurse, who throw them in the dryer so I could wear them to walk home.
