well it depends on who does the actual updating of the 'background'
data. i presume you're refering to the reuter terminal quote screen.
if so, then the way data is updated is thus: firstly, they -must- be
provided with the company annual report, which i'm sure reuters will
source regularly from the stock exchanges. so if no report, no data.
now, since creaf shares are traded as shares (not adrs) on ses, it's the singapore database group's responsibility to update them. if you've actually seen how they do it, it's a real labourous process 'cos this group handles every instrument in asia (fixed income, equities, corporate reports etc) n also it's heavily text based.
for all you know, the other group (in standford) has a huge manpower base to do it faster for the companies you so happen to check out
well, still this 1 incident does not undermine my conviction that reuters -is- still the best overall financial info provider. tell me which bank's dealing room does not have reuters equipment/service?
