It was closer to $800 bllion. It wasn't a trillion. And it was trying to paper over a $3 trillion hole in the economy. Regardless, it still helped. We were on the verge of a depression. The stimulus and the auto bailout kept that from happening. The fact that some politicians made claims that didn't pan out doesn't change the facts. washingtonpost.com Given your refusal to acknowledge how bad the Bush Near Depression was, no mere facts will change your mind. Even if what you say is true, that would have been the only time it didn't work. In the face of a global economic collapse, that would have been understandable. Good thing it actually helped.
