And to continue the discussion of buys vs sells. How does one really know? There are many trades between the bid/ask, and many buys are done at the bid and many sells done at the ask. On a liquid stock, if the price goes up, I think one can safely say there were more buyers than sellers, and if it goes down, more sellers than buyers.

But on low volume stocks this does not always hold true.
