In August, MSNBC Lawrence O'Donnell apologized for claiming that Trump got Russian oligarch money through Deutsche bank. He said the whole meme of Russia funding Trump was based on the misreading of a footnote.

REITs that specialize in mortgage loans are also a source of funds for real estate developers. I remembered reading way back there that Trump did some of his financing that way, and several names cropped up. The only name I could find an article on today is Ladder Capital. This was a private REIT when Trump started using it and it went public in 2014. Apparently he obtained the financing for his major New York properties from this company. The founder of the company was investigated by Mueller, and I would presume he gave them all the Trump related financial dealings.
