>>Europe is currently undergoing rapid sales growth, but they can start at anytime to mirror the level of
saturation that now exist here in America.<<

Getting Zips in the boxes is where a good part of Iomega's future lies. If you have an external Zip, you just save it and hook it up to your new machine when you upgrade. However, if the Zip is in the box, you need a new one every time you upgrade to a new machine...eventually, the sales of Zips begins to rise and fall with the sale of PC's

Rocky - excellent points. In fact, I believe the television advertising works out to be approximately 23 cents out of EPS if the full 100 million is spent. The question and gamble is how much in incremental sales are generated. The potential is still there to dramatically increase revenues in the Americas, but it is still potential. It will be extremely interesting and crucial to monitor the effect of this advertising blitz!

<It is exactly this same sort of obscenely optimisitic projections that get Iomega investors in trouble in the first place.>

And this is exactly the type of projections that I made with uncanny accuracy at the beginning of 1997 when I said IOM would earn in the low to mid .40's. Much better than all your gloom and doom projections I must say.

Believe what you will, but my track record for projecting earnings has made me a lot of money.

RE: Remedial Math 101.

Rocky,

>> Plus, if fully implemented, the $100MM ad blitz could take a dime or so out of the yearly EPS. <<

Last time I checked, $100MM / 270MM = 0.37.
