RE: Driving Forward While Looking in the Rearview Mirror.

Dan,

>> Michael, the problem with your vision of the world, is that you are driving forward while looking into the rearview mirror. Shame on you. <<

I would be looking through the front window, but it's impossible to see through it. The rearview mirror is the best predictor of the future, unless you know of something that has fundamentally changed.

>> SYQT revenue will increase in upcoming quarters because it now has a better product at a better price, something it did not have in the previous years you show. <<

Unfortunately, that's just not true. EZ135 was better than Zip according to many on this thread. It died miserably. SyJet 1.5 is better than Jaz according to many on this thread. It hasn't helped SyQuest gain back any of the ground that they lost. EZ230 is better than Zip according to many on this thread. It hasn't helped SyQuest gain back any of the ground that they lost. If you read back through the threads from previous years, the argument that you use has been used through that entire time.

>> Even Rocky admits he likes Syquest drives because of price. <<

Rocky likes SyQuest drives because he hates Iomega.

>> Now, all of you guys, go on and get out of here! This thread is for winners, not loosers. <<

What's a looser? Is that someone who can't spell? ;)

>>Forget about grabbing 2.5% of Iomega's market, focus on doubling revenues. Although they may be the same, they offer different perceptions of success and doubling revenues provides the better perspective.

Now, all of you guys, go on and get out of here! This thread is for winners, not loosers.<<

Dan -

Let's just hope that if SyQuest does double revenues, that they can actually show positive earnings. It's not a given.

I made the statement about percentages of Iomega's market because someone had posted that SyQuest was eating Iomega's lunch. I say they may be getting the pickle, but Iomega still has the sandwich. But yes, you're right in agreeing with me that the real issue is that SyQuest needs to improve its bottom line.

And before you call someone else a loser, you should learn to spell the word.
