Baoho: Why buy the company when you can get the engs. for 1/10 the price? Once a company like Oakt starts heading down it is very difficult to stop it. What happens is that your best engs. get pissed that their stock options are worth nothing and they leave. Like it or not, they leave with the knowledge of how to design Oakt's product. Any competitor is unlikely to want the product "AS IS" so all they really need are the engineers. You end up with a company like Opti, cash rich but selling at below book value. slob
