Trump wants to get out of the ME and Afghan but our Neocons and Flags keep pulling him back in. I can argue either side.
Bush naively thought we could establish democracy over there. It has been obvious for many years that will not happen. What is our goal now? Do we have an achievable definition of success? If not we should be on the next plane out of there.

I think at this point it’s important to have Iran give up their nuke weapons program - and their terrorism. They are geniuses at leveraging whatever they have. Right now, they - a poor country without an economy - have the whole world dancing. If they get nukes, the ME would not be the only place they’d keep nervous and in the crosshairs.

Last night I watched the Carlson show. He had his usual guest, Col McGregor, Tulsi, some more people... lots of talk about whether we “want” war or not, etc - and... can’t recall anything about the nuke issue. As if it doesn’t exist. But it does.
