Thanks for posting. I stand corrected on the Obama thing. However, my overall point remains valid. Presidents have been increasingly arrogating more power to themselves, while Congress has sat idly by and watched it happen, instead of exercising their authority as a co-equal Branch of government. As a result, we increasingly have an Imperial Presidency and Congress is a Subordinate Branch. This trend started in the early 1900s and has never been rolled back. This didn't start with Trump, although those who say it has are just experiencing TDS.

Hell, one of the biggest release of responsibility and reduction of Congressional power was when Congress created the Federal Reserve and then declared it to be an Independent organization, not subject to oversight. In one fell swoop, Congress gave up its primary responsibility of monetary policy and controlling the fiscal policy. Instead, it is now the tail on the Fed dog. They did it, because they were bought and paid for by the banks at the time, most particularly JP Morgan. That right there was the first nail in the coffin of the US. Since then, we've just steadily added the rest of the nails to the point now where our goose is pretty much cooked and there's no getting out beyond the even horizon of this monetary black hole anymore.
