Don't you see the humor/irony/absurdity of turning the executive of the economically and militarily most powerful nation into the world into a Peyton Place or Roman Circus?

I spent many years in Europe and IMO what Paul says is true for the majority of Europeans: they consider this whole farce a joke -- that a nation as 'great' as we are has nothing better to do than devote ourselves to the sexual (alleged or otherwise) adventures of the Chief Executive. I grant you that there are some side issues that may not be fully appreciated in Europe. However, I agree with them that stopping the whole machinery of government dead in its tracks for the next two years is absurd.

Paul merely stated his viewpoint (and I suspect, of most of his countrymen). You may not like the U.S. political scene being referred to as "the joke of the month", but to many in the world our actions are incomprehensible, both the OJ case and the Clinton case. Don't kill the messenger for bringing you an unpleasant truth.
