Trump Rants About Dishwashers Political Wireby Taegan Goddard President Trump ranted about what he said was the effect of efficiency standards on appliances like dishwashers, lightbulbs, toilets, and showers, at his rally last night in Milwaukee, Business Insider reports. Trump took aim at “new” dishwashers, and said they meant you sometimes need to wash your dishes “10 times.” He then asked the crowd: “Anybody have a new dishwasher? I’m sorry for that.” He also lamented what he said were weaker showers in the modern age, adding: “I have this beautiful head of hair, I need a lot of water.”

On the deeper subject.... I aspired to be an open-minded and politically curious in Berkeley/Oakland of the 1960's-beyond. I witnessed beaucoup sexism and misogyny embedded in the local 20th century socialist left local movements. That INCLUDES people with African, South American, and eastern European socialist roots. As well as locals born from "the streets" the drugs, the cults and the anarchy. Hetero men of all extremes say objectifying targeting sh#t to other men that they would never say with women in the room. I am certain of my hypocrisy in this realm. And I am now officially a "snitch." :-\ My main point is that misogyny is deeply rooted in the far left AND wingnut right (including some "trusted" religious and new age leaders, and beloved artists too.) Those powerful transcendent old memes are FINALLY changing with the young today, who are growing to be more sensitive to multi-gender consent and respect. The capturing of women as property for sex still remains ok across political lines among complicit "biased boomers." We born from the 1940's - 1970's grew up with "dirty magazine" (liberal) Playboy and then Penthouse themes objectifying women and defining dominant "maleness" before the internet and cable TV saturation of porn made the old "dirty" normal for better-or-worse, while still often assuming old binary gender stereotypes of male power. IMHO, and something Koan would probably say -- women in the far left tend to be very strong, stronger and more empowered than the women of Trump world. (I need to go see the movie "Bombshell and review it and might bend on my perception.) They ALL suffer silently with their unfortunate shames and secrets in the name of the greater political/social/economic movements or misplaced trust or endorphins. Unfortunately the sexism included the Huey Newton led Black Panther Party, as well as being plenty of iconic historic social justice "heroes" who's personal behavior with women was nothing to be proud of -- and history is shining new light at as it does with the facts of racism and slavery.
