'trust' is the key word if I got you right.....and that might be the problem...no body trusts MSFT to play fair.

They 'warp & distort' every market they want to compete in.

For example.......what happens if MSFT came out in Win98....and they said....'we're putting MSFDC on the Desktop as an Icon.'

That's Ok for them......but it's be like your Electric Utility Company saying.....We're gonna start suppling electric in 157 volts...so you will all need to get new appliances...which by the way we knew you wanted.....and we are now selling.

They can 'write their own ticket' on so much stuff...and do.

Doesn't matter if the trust is there.....it's whether they play fair...or cheat. Becasue if they put it in their mind to release that statement, we'd be looking at a 50cent Stock in 10 Minutes. That's too much 'monopoly' power, JIMHO.
