Barbara, It depends on what you are trying to improve. The harddrive looks small to me. A lot of programs page to the harddrive. If you are almost full (my guess is that you don't have much room left on your harddrive) the software wastes a lot of time looking for a spot to use. Also if you web surf the browser caches previously visited sites to the harddrive. If you go back to the same site it will load much quicker the second time ( in most cases, it depends on the time of your last visit and whether or not the web page has changed).

You can get a 2GB harddrive for $130 which would give you a total of 2.5GB. Check your manual to see how many harddrives your machine will support. The 2GB limitation should be per drive not the total you can have on your machine.

Why is the USRX 52K modem a waste? Is it because your ISP doesn't support the technology?

Regards

Zeuspaul

Barb: You can install a hardrive larger than 2.0G. I recently installed a 4.3G from Western Digital. They have a bios upgrade that comes with the hardrive called EZbios. I have a 100Mhz. processor and I am quite happy. Most of your internet problems come from the internet itself. DSL may solve that problem in a year or more. The longer you wait, the more computing power you get. A 233 PII should be very reasonable within six months. Good Luck!
