Daniel

Thanks for a well thought out and most coherent response.
I just didn't appreciate my name being on that board as I have no interest in the stock at these levels and wish only to lurk and observe the interactions.

Thank you for posting here. This has been a pretty wide open thread since its beginning. IMO the flames on the CREAF thread could well be handled here for those who are interested.

See ya on the PAIR thread.

Leo

Listen my friend. Several people in the Creaf thread accused me of spreading false information to manipulate a stock (which is illegal for anyone to do), and kindly offered to sue me. Now, let me first say that I have spread no false information nor tried to manipulate a stock. Nor have I done anything wrong or illegal. But everyday, there are a hundred thousand people in this country spending hundreds of thousands of dollars defending themselves in court against unjust accusations. You tell me why I should risk joining that crowd by posting the direction of a revision, thereby stating an opinion about the stock and opening myself up to lawsuits by anyone who wants to try to build a case that I am manipulating a stock? If you have looked around SI, you surely have seen that I have shared that information where I have not been threatened with lawsuits.

Daniel Gold also wrote: "They were a mis-characterization of others' comments presented in the most innocent tone but designed again to do harm."

Now here you go, accusing me of being a liar, just like so many in the Creaf thread. I am not a liar. I have never lied. You should apologize for personally attacking me and unjustly calling me a liar.

Daniel Gold also wrote:

"It is common practice on SI to hold people accountable to their sources of information."

Or how about just plain accountable? The amount of shabby analysis that is potentially very harmful because someone might read it and invest on it is simply amazing. When I see that, it troubles me that this harm may occur, so I criticize those poorly thought out and misleading ideas. If people cannot deal well with criticism of their ideas, they should not post.

As for personal attacks, you are fooling yourself if you do not see that the personal and juvenile attacks against me have been far worse than any from me.

When it comes to clutter, let me just say that, to me, 85% of the posts at Creaf contain completey useless, if not misleading ideas and information. I have to wade through them, and I do so without whining. Besides, the volume of complaints about my posts exceeds my posts by a ratio of about 10 to 1. If anyone wants to cut down on clutter, I can think of a good place to start.

At least you, unlike many others, have had the decency to take me up on my request that you bring any personal conversations over here to LVB, where there are no rules.

Happy Investing!

Daniel Gold:

You might want to re-read this post closely.

Message 3247861

Interesting, too, how the earnings reporting service (Zacks) Jon Tara once used to wrongly and libelously accuse me of being a liar is now full of errors, according to Jon Tara. Notice he does not take the time to apologize to me for falsely and libelously accusing me of being a liar, on the basis of his superficial knowledge and obviously inadequate research.

Of course you won't now post to Jon Tara criticizing him for this uncivilized behavior. Nor will you complain to Jill about it. Did I ever falsey and libelously call someone a liar in public, discover the basis for that accusation was wrong, and then not apologize for that? Is this acceptable bahavior, in your view?

But, then again, Vanni bashing is too much fun, and let's not let the facts get in the way. Keep the lynch mob riled up against this guy who dared to criticize our ideas, to ask us to think (that is too much work!) and to criticize our favorite stock, Creaf (or fill in the blank of any other stock which I dared to apply critical thought to, thereby offending some of its shareholders/cheerleaders who post at SI).

SI is meant to be a place to discuss stocks and ideas. And that means the positive and the negative. It is not a cheerleading section where people gather to shout "Go Creaf! Go Creaf, Go!"

And, by the way. As long as we are on the subject of appropriate behavior. Don't you find it the least bit troubling when someone makes an overtly racist comment like: "Those analysts have to be wrong and stupid because they are in Singapore."

Or have you complained about that to Jill, too?

Happy Investing!

Oh yes. Another thing. You might have noticed that the people at Creaf are now actually focusing on earnings estimates, ever since I raised the issue. I would consider this a good thing, since earnings estimates do tend to have a slight impact on stock prices. Although they are not doing a very good job of figuring it out.

And one guy's approach is to say, well, my estimates are important, and those of all the analysts are not because they always get it wrong. Now, is anyone going to criticize him for being arrogant?

Happy Investing!
