This is a good direction and one I have always taken in reporting to the thread on varied retail location surveys, since I seem to have a lot of really important chains with multiple stores close by.
My feeling now is that there has been too much time filling all the slots that the big retailers have set aside for the Radica games. I have not seen as dramatic a shortage of Hasbro games...why? I'm not sure. One reason, they are not as hot in general as the hot Fishing and night vision games. Or they simply have a more effecient supply network.
I don't know the impact on the quarter from this...
I do know the company has past experience and good reasons for not overproducing...That's the fine line of keeping margins high.
I am putting to question the efficiency and cost of not having products on more shelves.
I know David has explained the process...perhaps I am ahead of myself, but I do know it's January 23 and that's given all the stores a lot of reset time and returns time and now they are ready...that's the good news...but I see a lot of them still waiting for product.
There is also a price to pay for not fullfilling the post Christmas fever that many get from seeing stuff friends and relatives have that you think is cool and you have to have...
After a few visits to stores, not finding them and then just passing do to fading interest.
Good thing is most of the adults want one and perhaps they will want it long enough...and lot's of them ride bikes and skate with their kids.
Survey in detail this week from SOCAL.
