I had a relative that lived in a clap board shack with a bunch of cats on ten acres of hilly land a few miles from town. As poor as he was the place was 100% free and clear. When he passed on he left everything to a cat charity, they sold the land to a developer for $1.75 million. In my estimation if you own something free and clear you’re a rich man. Like Trump says... "Money was never a big motivation for me, except as a way to keep score. The real excitement is playing the game."
