>>the Uniparty<<

If only! Is 'the Uniparty' sitting in judgement at today's rigged trial?

Phooey! I had a more detailed response to you typed up and then lost it.

Some of my best work has been lost that way. <g> I'm not sure which key I accidentally hit, maybe when my fingernails get too long or I drop something on the keyboard, that makes my I have learned that, when the post is long, I need to clip it to the clipboard as I go along so I can get it back. Ia couple of times I was able to retrieve my text if I had previously used "submit public." I think it's "forward" that will find that. But it's been a while so I'm not sure about that.

Trump is an iconoclast, and iconoclasts are always rejected by the majority of folk at the beginning.

Kate, you refuse to try to look at this as someone who doesn't have the inside line on Trump so is taken by surprise by the strangeness of it all. Imagine someone moves into your neighborhood and has an idea that traffic would move better if there was a new exit street so he just starts driving where he thinks the new street should be, right through the dog park and somebody's vegetable garden. You'd think he was a drunk or a madman and you would react against him. Now, if he called a neighborhood meeting and explained how he thought things should be rerouted, at least you'd know what his car was doing in the petunias. You know the old saw about trying to turn an aircraft carrier. You need to clearly express the direction you want to head, use the mechanisms of the ship to turn it, and wait for the movement. And, if I haven't yet mixed enough metaphors, if you just wade in without notice, you're not a change agent but a bull in a china shop. The fault there lies with the guy who wants to make change, not the folks standing around and scratching their heads wondering why the world doesn't work the way it used to.

but the original memo concerning the aid has surfaced.

Once again, I think you're attributing this too much to policy differences and ignoring the element of surprise. No one knew about any memo when this thing started. They only sensed a strange vibe and felt that they weren't in Kansas anymore. You are explaining things from a retrospect vantage point that were brand new to them, happening in real time. They could not have understood then what has since emerged.

I hate when that happens.
