I too, am gobsmacked.

I can understand people wanting big change. I was a radical in my youth. And I understand the perceived problem with the Uniparty. But change, big change, can occur in myriad directions and I cannot imagine choosing Trump's direction from among all the possibilities.

Nor can I imagine thinking that no alternative could possibly be worse than the status quo ante. That's a variation of we need to do something, this is something, let's do it.

I have noted that Kate approves of authoritarians in high office. Of course, that means she approves of abuse of power. Since that is what authoritarians do.

It is what puts the 'banana' in 'banana Republicans'.
