Hi Mike-- I am saying the potential is certainly there, at least for a more consistent distribution of stones. The upper portion w/ its several intrusive phases is highly varied in diamond occurrence. Just remember, I don't know what I'm talking about! ! ! I was hoping others more in the know might comment :)

Mike, I believe you were asking about the exploration stages of a diamond quest (ie, honing in/blocking out targets)-- read this link for a brief description of some of this in the NWT (Intertech Mining):
imlvse.bc.ca
Scroll down to near the bottom-- some relevant info there.
There's also this description of Intertech's process/expenditure:
imlvse.bc.ca
EXPLORATION: Since August, 1992, exploration activities on the property have comprised collection and processing of reconnaissance and detailed till sampling (900 samples); property-scale (250 m line spacing; 2342 ln km) and target-scale (50-75 m line spacing; 15 targets) airborne magnetic ¤ multi-frequency electromagnetic surveying; detailed ground total field magnetic and HLEM surveying (20 targets); minor ground penetrating radar surveying; prospecting; and diamond drilling (NQ core; 10 holes; 2718.70 m). Total expenditures to date: $2,944,532.

I'm sure reading other diamond mining co's NR's you'd find recounts of such...
