My first thought was to put the guy out of business as a public service, including standing outside his office and handing out flyers with photos of Mika with her innards hanging out as evidence of his handy work. I was so damn angry, you would not believe. The vet is clearly scared and is offering to help in any way he can.

He is one of highest rated vets in the area. I checked his credentials before taking my dog to him. But I was not thorough. Internet reviews of him seem to indicate that he has done some good in the community. I am not the kind of person who takes advantage of misfortune to sue people just to get rich. So I am going to investigate him and the issue. If it turns out that he is a good person and that his conduct has been at least within the acceptable practice, then I will work something out with him. But if I find out that he has messed up other pets before or has been an ass, then money won't do and I will make it my mission to put him out of business.

Right now, I am too emotionally drained to contemplate what to do with him in any great detail. That will have to wait.
