I've recently begun using Ameritrade but can't answer the questions regarding margin requirements (I'm too damn conservative to margin anything). Their commission schedule is much better than Schwab was. But you can't buy/sell BB stocks online. You have to place your orders by phone to a live broker, which sucks because it costs more. But it is still much, much less than Schwab. Their service is also very poor. If you send them an e.mail or fax, they take days and days to answer it. My orders have been executed in a very timely manner, however. So, on a scale of 1 - 10, I'd give them a 5, I guess. I don't recall where I got this link, but you may find it useful in comparing various bokers: smartmoney.com (Hell, maybe I got it off this thread. I don't know) George
