Update on Field derailment Monday @9pm the fifth estate CBC.

Almost 2 years and Transportation Safety Board can’t give an account of their findings.

Did the original crew differ to CP management regarding securing the train on over 2% grade??

The original crew new they were required by rule to tie on sufficient individual handbrakes on each car to hold

it on extreme grade... probably 60 or 80 maybe more... did they differ to management they should apply brake

retainers instead? If so, TSB,,,how many retainers were found applied in the wreckage?? Hand brakes??

if any??

What pertinent information was exchanged between crews on change off. Radio ,, Rail Traffic Control ,,

conversations ..

It should not take almost 2 years to come up with a complete report on this tragedy,,

Condition of ((air active ))brake systems on cars in that train is an issue ,,but when that train is stopped ,,

HAND BRAKES APPLIED will keep it there ,,because it is mechanical force applied through muscle power

and has nothing to do with air. Allowing armchair management to make judgments on safety of trains led to

this tragedy.
