Mike Leary , Clinic owner in private practice Debate is the civilized dynamic using forms of parliamentary procedure basically laid out by George McCoy Musgrave. The problem with someone like Donald is he doesn’t follow protocols, as they are experienced by him as confining. It makes him feel weak and out of control. That’s why he’s always had body guards to protect him and do his bidding. He’s a bully and, as such, isn’t interested in anything that might diminish his ego. That’s why you can’t be logical with him. He has no reason. It’s all emotional based. So to go up against him you need a skilled bully too. A person who will call him names and undercut his arrogance. Someone who is smart enough to know the real facts on Trump and shove them in his face. The closest he came on national TV was when David Letterman held up trumps ties right after ‘The Donald’ said they were made in the US and it was tagged—-‘Made in China’. You can see Trump’s face, just like he used to get caught when he lied as a little boy. The person has to be ruthless and expose real dirt and have the facts to back it up so Trump can’t easily lie his way out of the accusation, feigning innocence. So who in history has been an underhanded scoundrel but on the side of decency? One man's hero is another man's tyrant, is a popular aphorism. My pick would be Lyndon B Johnson. As ruthless as the man was, he did understand social systems and helped set up decency in an era there wasn’t much. The Johnson treatment is what Trump needs. Credit: LBJ library L.B.J. was a career DC Beltway Politician who knew his way around because he served in both major branches, the House and the Senate. He was what would be called a liberal Democrat today because he was quite socially conscious and progressive for the times. That he was from Texas is hard to believe now but he’d put the good-ol’-boys in their place. Johnson could destroy someone’s career if they got in his way. A massively skilled manipulator, he was successful in pushing his agenda where others failed or feared to tread. Some say he was one of, if not the most successful legislators in US history. He collected and remembered all the dirty secrets the different legislators tried to hide and he had no compunction about using the information to leverage what he wanted. That made him both feared and respected. It got to be known as "The Johnson Treatment" or "The Treatment", which included any technique he could find, including blackmail. So he would have relished going up against someone like Trump. He would have quickly sized him up and seen Donny’s poker hand was buffoonery and nothing but random cards. Trumps manners from his speech patterns to his body language exposes a huge insecurity. LBJ would have made mincemeat of him.
