Even if it is not too deadly, I think this virus has the power to disrupt economies. It is certainly disrupting the economy in and around Wuhan. If you have to stop transportation, build hospitals, suspend schools, close shopping centers, cancel sporting events, shutdown factories and offices that is going to hit the economy. For how long? Maybe a few months in each area that it moves through. Not long, but long enough to have an impact. US markets (and others) are priced today based on the spread of virus being contained OR that any resulting slowdown can be printed over. Myself I am not so sure and am positioning myself accordingly.
