I don't have an answer for your question on cremation. I have wondered about it, though. What about the idea of resurection of the body? Does cremation affect that?

Best wishes,

I2

Jack, my dear brother, the Lord Jesus CHrist addressed that quite
specifically, I believe. The new convert who wanted to physically follow Jesus and walk and talk with Him literally, to learn all he could. In a state of complete grief, I am certain, complete grief, the guy says to Jesus that he must go to the funeral of his father (? someone close) and help bury him and then he will run and catch up with Jesus and the other men.

What was the reply from the mouth of the Lord: Let the dead bury the dead. ((Those that are not saved can tend to the deserted containers no longer usuable.)

It is pagan in my eyes to put any emotional attention to where some calcium and phosphorus deposits remain somewhere in the ground.
And does it matter whether they end up in a jar?

You're going to be out of that body before the fact anyway, Jack. It says in scripture that the born again do not die, as they already have. To me this is perfectly clear and has been since the first. God keeps our spirit man within this body until the time that he releases it. Apparently if we are to believe all scripture and not just bits and pieces here and there, the Lord states that the spirit will step out of this body prior to the body ceasing to operate. Otherwise the scripture would have no meaning. I believe that explains why the dying hang on until someone shows up, if they are believers, that is, and then say a few words and shut their eyes. Have you ever heard of a believer doing all that horrible gasping for breathe, eyes wide open in horror like we see in the movies? Nope. That's only for those the devil is coming for. The rest slip out without a sound.
My grandmother wasn't even really saintly, and all she said was
I'm soooooooooooo tired, and shut her eyes. That was it. The other one I was there, and even though she was not a big church goer, I could feel the presence of God all around that darling, darling little creature that everyone loved her whole life.

So, I can't get too excited about calcium deposits. It's there in the Word. What we do with it seems to be of no import to the Lord whatsoever.

Again, come up with any other scripture to deny this and I'll take it
back. I see too much proof that the believer simply steps out and quickly heads happily toward the source of light they all see. Enough have seen it and come back to tell, I hardly think they could or would all make it up. They are all diverse and until recently these stories were never circulated much at all anyway.

Is there one single word about "bones" other than "dry bones?"
And if the O.T. speaks of bones, theywere at all times heavily infiltrated with pagan this and that throughout, much like America today. Don't you think that it would have been written in the Law if bones had signifcance at all. That would be the final place to look for any importance whatsoever to the container no longer needed.

Just logic and absence of instruction in the word for any other thoughts on the matter.

Are you going to watch the Super Bowl? I have withstood the urge to join pagan revelries, but sure am getting ready for it as we speak in a more controlled environment.
