Back in the real world where facts surpass mindless opinion, we know people are migrating from the Southern Hemisphere to the Northern because of global warming and drought. We see this in Africa, South America and the Middle East. The US is able to mitigate the devastation caused by global warming (three massive and historic hurricanes in one year) because we're able to go deep into debt. Republicans didn't raise taxes to fund these disasters, they cut taxes and gave us trillion dollar deficits and debt that will never be paid back. When the bills come due, they hope they're dead. They think bankrupting their children makes them good people. They don't know right from wrong. Did you ever think the US would go from balanced budgets to trillion-dollar deficits in a few short decades? Conservatism destroys the ability of people to think, reason and know morality. The party or the institution always comes first. I put forward two examples. The Catholic Church became very conservative in the 1980s under John Paul. They also had one of the largest religious scandals in human history. They raped children and their conservative pope didn't know what to do. Had a liberal or woman been pope, the problem would have fixed after the first child was raped. A liberal or woman pope would have required the police be notified after priests raped children. None of their hierarchy were capable of knowing right from wrong. No one cared. Protecting the institution came first. Trump, Reagan,and Bush cut taxes and created massive debt. In the 80s the gop became very conservative. Each of their presidents promised to balance the budget but instead cut taxes and exploded the debt. When confronted with massive and historic deficits and failure they couldn't raise taxes and undo their mistakes. Conservatives in government protected their party. Today, we see this same party protecting a known criminal who refuses to answer legal subpoenas. They protect the party instead of the Constitution. Conservatives can't be trusted with children, law, science, or math. In each instance, the problems above could be fixed with easy solutions; raise taxes and call the police. Conservatives couldn't do the right thing because they're conservative.
