RESEARCH ALERT - Soundview recommends tech stocks NEW YORK, Jan 26 (Reuters) - SoundView Financial Group Inc said on Monday strategist James Townsend recommended investors overweight the technology sector and added shares of Platinum Technology Inc <PLAT.O> and Dell Computer Corp <DELL.O> to the firm's large-cap focus list. Iridium World Communications Ltd <IRIDF.O> and Altera Corp <ALTR.O> also added to large-cap focus list. Structural Dynamics Research Corp <SDRC.O> and Checkpoint Systems Inc <CKP.N> added to small-cap focus list. Platinum stock up 15/32 to 27-31/32, Dell up 12/16 to 95-9/16, Altera off 5/8 to 30-3/8 and Structural Dynamics up 9/16 to 24-1/2.
