But it didn't require FDR to win the war. I think almost any commander in chief with Patton, MacArthur, Nimitz, Bradley etc, could have turned the tide of the war. I am not arguing American military power wasn't needed, and frankly I think we should have weighed in earlier. I just don't buy that FDR was necessary to win the war. (Reminds of the old Saturday Night Live sketch, "The Question is Moot")
