Dismissing the female genital mutilation case is a dangerous precedent establishing Sharia Law above American Law. Why aren’t the women marchers protecting the poor girls being mutilated? I saw something at work that this situation reminds me of. When the Susan B. Koman race was in its infancy, a couple of gals at our firm, took the initiative, got our firm to sponsor and organized a very large and impressive grass roots effort to support the race. These ladies who got it going were just rank and file workers (one was a survivor) . It went on for many years and these ladies spearheaded the effort every year. Fast forward and we would up merging. These ladies were replaced by "executives" who did a much poorer job . I think the same thing affects many "movements" - they start out with sincere motives and then power hungry people take control and align with other groups that may be at odds with their purported goal. I don't think these people really give a crap, it is all about power and control. They are not going to put principle ahead of am ally on the left. I suspect many women, some former members are appalled - do the right thing.
