<<I am sick to pieces of hearing what the French think of this affair, just as I was nauseated by H. Clinton's glowing reports of European social welfare programs. When the French get their unemployment down to single digits, they can lecture us on sexuality and economics.>>

Peter, I couldn't agree with you more. Who the hell are the French to tell us our national ethics are puritanical. This is from a country whose answer to double digit unenployment is to reduce the workweek to four days without loss of pay. This is from a country that rolled over and turned Paris over to the Germans. The French are well on their way to creating a third word ecomony and their country into one big amusement park.

Well Peter,

I have to like your response. I don't like the sexual harrasment issue having been moralized to us so long either. These social issues can start out on the right path, but the pendulum always swings too far, and there is hypocracy in Clinton's words vs actions. I just hope some good comes from it. I also don't like affirmative action (quotas) shoved down my throat either..something Clinton supports To think the US can stay competiive by awarding contract based on race/sex is a looser . It seems to me that 30 years of it should be sufficient to try to equalize the playing field.

My earlier idea requiring all politicians to post on web sites, explaining their votes, would prhaps revitalize the interest in democracy and independant thinking ..the tru strength of out coountry. I think we'll see this soon.

John

>>If Mr. Clinton committed obstruction of justice, he is a felon, and felons ought not be in the Oval Office<<

I thought being a felon was a sine qua non for being President. I seriously doubt if there has been a President this century who hasn't committed some sort of felony. Some are just stupid enough to get caught. That being said, some felonies are worse than others.
