She had $3.4 million in cash on hand. But the 35-year-old’s role in defending Trump also helped generate a gush of cash for her Democratic opponent, Tedra Cobb, who raised $2 million in contributions and has $2.2 million in cash on hand. Stefanik defeated Cobb in 2018, earning 56.1% of the vote to her lefty challenger’s 42.4%. She was first elected in 2014 to represent upstate communities north of Albany to the Canadian border, including the expansive Adirondack region.
