Brendan :
I think your suggestion has merit. I believe that after
today's TV commercials, Monday will bring nothing but plus
gains for IOM.

Questions:

I am not overweighted in IOM as some here seem to be but I feel sorry for those that are ( I'm overweighted in CPQ ). I am not as experienced an investor as most on this thread so as long as I'm paying for this education I might as well learn from this. Here are a few things I've been thinking about:

* Several people have discussed this, if 2 mil shares traded in after hours and that brought the share price down to the $8/9 level, how is it that 45 mil traded during the trading day didn't move the price drastically. This seems to indicate the buy/sell ratio was ~=.

* Am I the only one who believes alot of this action was the shorts leaving and/or going long.

* As discussed already, it seems as the company could have found a penny or 2 to meet estimates if it really wanted, or did they and actual eps would have been lower ?

* Would a company with a large short position on its stock actually offer an olive branch by missing slightly to get the shorts to leave ( I know this probably isn't the case ). I for one don't believe the short position now is very large, as I've heard most of them are very savvy investors and I just don't think there is as much downside potential as in the past (Duh) .

* WHAT REALLY WORRIES ME IS THE OVERALL MARKET. ALL THESE PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN SHARPENING THEIR AXES FOR THE PRESIDENTS HEAD BETTER THINK TWICE BECAUSE SOMETIMES YOU GET WHAT YOU WISH FOR AND IT DOESN'T TURN OUT TO BE WHAT YOU WANTED AFTER ALL. Like some people on the business channels have been saying " The market doesn't like uncertainty ". Add this to the Asian problem and it seems we could end up in a world wide recession. We all know if the USA sneezes the whole world catches a cold, in this case I'm afraid it could turn to pneumonia. I've never shorted a stock before but if it looks like the prez will resign ( nobody gets fired if they're given the option of quitting ) the I'll short paper stocks like Maxim knowing that the perception would be Gore would go after enviromently unfriendly companies.

Sorry for being long winded but have some questions and concerns.

Bill
