Imho, the slightest in positive earnings will bump this puppy upwards, at least in the short term. There are many small investors out there, hoping for a turnaround and looking for earnings as the cue.

Jeff, like I said, I hope that you are right. If a single investor's perspective could be reflected in a stock's price, Informix would be trading at $15 based on your enthusiasm alone. Pessimism from negative gits like myself might knock it down to around $12. :-) I still haven't seen any official confirmation of the 2/11 announcement date. I assume that your source is the SI earnings calendar.

San Jose Mercury 2 page article on ifmx: Says that CFO said they hope to break even by the second quarter, and show profit for 1998. Also that they still have problems with shareholder lawsuits in state & federal court. Cite Finocchio as an 'execution machine', but also mention that he knows hardware business but not s/w, and that '[he] is basically wrong' in saying that there is an infinite demand for databases' -> "the whole market is stalling right now" says Merv Adrain vp of Giga Info Group market research group of Santa Clara. you can probably find the whole article at sjmercury.com or whatever their website is.
