Koan,

I am glad you are healthy and back posting but I have to take issue with this comment:

Bloomberg who is a Republican who has talked about both cutting social security and privatizing it and backed Bush in 2004

You will have to show me a position paper or quote that shows that Bloomberg ever spoke about privatizing SS. I don't believe it. He was a Democrat before he was a Republican and an Independent afterward. He doesn't fit into either party perfectly, but IMHO he has more Democratic positions than Republican ones.

I also would have to see details of any plan he advocated to cut SS. He has always advocated higher taxes for wealthier people.

Welcome back!

"If those who oppose Sanders keep scaring people about him, that plays right into the hands of the Republicans and could cause us to lose to Trump."

If Bernie gets as much support from the D's and I's as he's getting from the R's, he'll win over 500 EVs.

GOP Leaders In South Carolina Plan to Boost Bernie
Political Wireby Taegan Goddard

“A group of prominent South Carolina Republicans is preparing to launch a wide-scale effort this week to encourage GOP voters to vote for Sen. Bernie Sanders in the February 29 Democratic primary,” the Charleston Post and Courier reports.

“The Republican plan to meddle in the Democratic race, emerging just weeks before the ‘First in the South’ primary, has two goals: Boost the candidate who the Republicans believe presents the weakest general election threat to President Trump and pressure Democrats to support closing state primaries in the future.”

just to be perfectly clear, if the Democratic race settles down to Bernie or Bloomberg, we would be insane to pick Bernie because that would allow the Reps to play the socialist card and then Trump wins. Bloomberg can win the center and beat Trump. Maybe he’s not as progressive as some would like, but he would be infinitely better than Trump

I don't support Sanders, not because he's a socialist, we've never elected one so why not try? I don't see him getting any support in Congress for anything he wants to do (same as Trump). God know fiscal conservatives spent the past 40-years lying about balancing the budget. There are so many lies, lies are news. So this is where we are as a country. Dems have to stop telling the truth. Most Americans don't know anything about politics or the state of our democracy. Republicans know Americans are idiots and they use this to their advantage. They don't have a healthcare plan, they lie. They can't balance the budget, they lie. They didn't find WMDs in Iraq, they lie. They commit war crimes and ask foreign countries to help them win elections and it's never called a scandal.

Since even impeaching a republican SOB isn't called a "scandal" but Whitewater was a scandal even though the Clintons were exonerated we have to deal with the fact the media hates us because we're good. It's not just the gop we have to deal with but the collapse of journalistic ethics. Today, the idiot lies all the time and his lies are headline news. When only one side is heard, that side gets elected and nothing it says ever has to be true.

Btw, I've been accused of being you. I'm not sure how to take it. ;) Nice to meet you.
