Zebra,

Thanks for your reply. I agree that if sildenafil does not
allow healthy males to have prolonged intercourse and/or
erection after ejaculation, then it may not be widely abused,
and the DEA would then probably not take any action.

But if it is truly lacking in those attributes as you suggest,
doesn't that lead to questions of how effective it will be in
cases of moderate and severe ED?

My point is only to raise for discussion the premise that if
Viagra really is the magical sex pill that's always eluded
searchers (till now), then it will probably be abused, and
ultimately scheduled as a controlled substance. But, if it's
not that good a sex drug, then people with ED will still need
MUSE and Caverject.

Only time will tell how effective it is as a "aphrodisiac"
as compared to placebo. But there is already one instance
of theft at a clinical trials site, and two instances of FDA
import detentions, as noted in my previous posts.

If there are future increases in such incidents, fueled
by media hype, then DEA action would be more likely.

I don't see MUSE as a candidate for scheduling because
of the need for urethral insertion, as well as the need
to keep the product refrigerated, both of which make it
less attractive than pills in the black market.

Zebra, I have an essay question for you:

" Should Vivus investors be concerned of a possible Vivus stock
price drop next week if and when it is proven by Bill Clinton
that Erectile Dysfunction in middle age is significantly more
rare ( ie fewer MUSE sales )than the alleged 20 mill + number we
were looking at before? ( for this threat to become real it will
be neccessary to prove today's ? NY Enquirer front page picture
of Bill and Monica with the underneath caption " there are
hundreds out there ! ".

I apologize for the long title but sometimes things can get complicated in the ED field.
