epicure- i have no comment on your debate with koan... both sides are worth hearing... but here's another perspective on the recs koan got and the possible motives behind them. it seemed obvious to me that the recs were to stir the pot in an enemy camp, create division... and then laugh about it in secret. they're not dummies... they just live on the other side of the "morality" fence. i can hear them emitting "dirty- trickster" giggles right NOW. sometimes they use recs just to needle someone they don't like... especially if they've been put on ignore. (another possible motive for the koan recs) if the use of recs as weapons keeps up, you might want to consider going back to being a no rec thread? ...naah... we just need to be mindful of who made the recommendation and not jump to the conclusion that it means support of the ideas. sometimes a rec is just acknowledgment that you read it... not the case in the koan recs. ;-) i'm weary of politics and don't get by here often but i support what you're doing with "view from the center and left" and i like the way you run it. thanks for your efforts and thanks for the forum! -elpolvo
