Polls show Bernie beating Trump about as well as Biden.

<<

In 2018, only 35% of those in their 20’s voted. The voting percentage is 60% for those in their 50’s and 60’s. The raw number of potential voters in each 10 year age cohort is fairly similar.

It more important to not scare old folks with Bernies socialism than it is to enthuse the kids.

ohhhh, simple arithmetic... aka science

I never voted either when I was young.

Being born in 1961 I wasn't legally of age to vote until 1979. (and before that the age was 21... you are old enough to be sent to war but you can't vote)

My focus was making a living right out of high school, having to get a job because just needed to support myself.

I didn't get politically interested until the 1990s, but by then just too busy to have a real interest. Then late 90s with internet, I began to read more. And the BOOM 9/11. I thought after Vietnam we were done with stupid counterproductive wars.

As late as early 2003 I didn't really think we would send ground troops into Iraq and try to magically turn it into a thriving democracy while pointing guns in their faces.

Wrong.

Exactly. Half of the 'kids' will go to vote and ask, 'What do you mean, I have to have registered?'. The other half will blow it off when they can't get a voting app on their smartphone.
