Hello all:

I have lurked on this thread for ever and have been a shareholder of Kensington and still am.
Along with everyone else here I am very frustrated with this stock. I feel that we should be at a much higher price but due to a variety of bad management decisions and the almighty DeBeers we never will be.
I find it extremely curious as to why all the companies that have found diamonds that aren't JV'd with Monopros are trading at a much higher price. Ashton is a good example. We are much further ahead than them.
What happened to Gerle Gold? According to Kaiser they have the most indicator minerals of all of the properties in the north.
I had a book called The Rise and Fall of Diamonds for a while until my dog ate it. It's very old and I can't remember the authors name. I hadn't finished reading it but it was the history of DeBeers and the very powerful cartel that they have become.
Some interesting parts of the book pointed out the obvious, such as why didn't DeBeers have any explorations arms of the company(at the time of publishing)?
Answer: De Beers do not need diamonds to be found. They have millions and millions in their vaults.
Another interesting part I remember was that in one of the states in the US was that a company found diamonds. They were actually mining and then DB got control of the company. The mine was closed. The US government tried to take DB to court but due to foreign ownership they couldn't. END OF MINE.
Now I read (yesterdays Post) the heads of DB won't go into the US because of alleged price fixing of diamonds and the US is waiting to charge them if they cross the border.
DB has gained control of almost every countries diamonds by paying off
corrupt leaders of African countries, hiring missionaries, killing off the small independant African miner through hired guards, or any other tactic they can use. I don't think it will be any different for us here other than they will have to use lawful means. Easy enough, just JV ,gain control, and stop all further work before a diamond is mined, make what looks like an honest effort and who will be able to stop them from doing otherwise.
Another concern of companies that don't do business with DB is selling their diamonds. If a diamond broker buys from DB and DB learns that they are buying diamonds anywhere else DB no longer sells them diamonds. The threat alone of cutting off the supply from DB usually ends any purchases from elsewhere instantly. This pretty much forces any exploration companies to sell the diamonds to DB only.
After reading just half of this book I have grown to hate and distrust DB. I could ramble on for ever but have rambled enough. I am still hunting through all the used book stores for another copy. Maybe someone out there has one and could throw their comments on here.
I feel that the only way KRT will do anything is to get control of this company, otherwise I think we will just be put into cold storage by DB.
Is that what happened to Gerle Gold?
Will that happen to the company that announced a JV yesterday with DB?
Will that happen to us?
When I get mad about KRT I just repeat:
DE BEERS DOES NOT WANT OR NEED DIAMONDS TO BE FOUND!!!!!!!!!
DE BEERS DOES NOT WANT OR NEED DIAMONDS TO BE FOUND!!!!!!!!!
