Scientists can splice and swap genetic material - and so can nature. I’m not a specialist in virology - but neither is Dr Boyle, who is a law professor. It’s hard to prove - or disprove - any role played by humans in the origin of this new virus.

Either way, be in nature - or “nurture” - the virus needs to be studied — and dealt with.
