Zappa Resources Ltd - La Plata drill results

Zappa Resources Ltd ZPA
Shares issued 17053790 1998-01-21 close $0.31
Wednesday Jan 21 1998

Mr Albert Gerry reports
The company has received drill results for holes No. 20, 21 and 22 as
received from Cambior, the operator, which has the option to earn a
51% interest in the La Plata project by spending US$2.0 million by
November 1998.

Hole No. 20 intersected 16.0m of 11.0 g/t Au, 79 g/t Ag, 7.7% Cu,
2.9% Zn, 0.3% Pb.
This hole is 70m south of hole No. 9 which ran 8.7m
of 11.1 g/t Au, 112 g/t Ag, 3.8% Cu, 12.0% Zn, 2.4% Pb. Six other
holes north of hole No. 9 also intersected the same massive sulphide
horizon.

Hole No. 21 intersected three individual lenses within two
mineralized horizons of massive sulphides on a section 70m north of
hole No. 20 and at 40 and 100m higher elevation respectively. Hole
No. 22 intersected semi-massive sulphide lenses on the same section
as No. 20 but at 50m.

In summary, hole No. 21 and No. 20 changed the company's
understanding of the geology and emphasized the fact that high grade
gold and base metals mineralization is present within multiple zones
and will need to be drill tested on a tight spacing (50m).

In addition, surface exploration of the Campo Alegre concession,
south of La Plata, shows altered volcanics surface outcroppings
similar to La Plata's horizon, over an area of approximately 400m by
three kilometres. A float sample from the Campo Alegre concession ran
15 g/t Au.

To All: EGD was just granted the two key Dominican concessions it has waited over 1 year for. The one concession, Longyear, has one of the best addresses in Latin America, situated right beside Pueblo Viejo, (PV) a 20 million ounce deposit, with a surface anomaly very similar in nature to the surface anomaly of PV.

The other piece of good news is that Eldorado Gold owes EGD $1.75 million now that the property is granted, as a property payment for their 51% interest in the property. EGD now has $3.2 million working cap, 12.3 million out.

The second property, Rey Midas, is adjacent to a Falconbridge mineral discovery in the DR. Their discovery, Managua, clearly runs onto Rey Midas. These are the two properties the market has been waiting for.

I do IR work for the company. Check out the Energold thread for the actual news release. Recommended by John Kaiser, Hard Rock Analyst, Whalen Belliveau & McDermid St. Lawrence.
