Some bearish thoughts

I have read a lot of talk here about how SYQT is such a small player now, and how you can't compair it with IOM. It was only about 3 years ago that the rolls were reversed and IOM was a nobody, untill they came out with 1 great product (the Zip). No one at this point knows if the new SYQT drive will be the product to turn them around or not yet. However reguardless with the performace and pricing, it will deffently have some impact on IOM's profits from the Jazz market. for a retail customer price pays a big part in the buying process and with the cost of drive and disks to back up a modest 4.0 gig drive being $300 for the SYQT vs $600 for the IOM, I think the average retail customer will have a very hard time justifying buying the IOM. the solution for IOM will have to be price reductions in the disks which is were the real profits are.

If the big money (funds etc) now are considering IOM in the same sector as the disk drives, The P/E for IOM is still high even with projected growth for IOM.

While IOM is a solid company and the above factors may or may not prove to have merrit, IMHO they should be considered in the thought about before taking a new position in IOM.
