I think it is premature to believe that there is an actual downturn in new infections. China is a big place and has a huge population. It is likely that they have only been detecting the most severe cases. We'll see. I suspect that it is too soon to determine what the death rare is going to be. Advanced medical care may keep seriously ill people alive longer before they die. I'd give it another month before drawing too many conclusions.
