I remember the conversation. I gave you a somewhat general reply - like, vaccinations, general precautions... But, what else can be said? Pray and hope.

Dr Peng's experience is mostly ICU. When he says that 1/3 of the patients become worse during the second week, he means ICU patients, who were critical to begin with. As a matter of fact, I found his words encouraging - he mentioned that even among those extremely sick individuals the mortality is 4-5%. That’s not so bad for the most critical group with severe viral pneumonia (plus secondary infections) and organ failure.

Increased secretions of cytokines will be something expected, but massive release, to the point of “storm” - will probably (and hopefully) remain rare.
