asia (Tokyo, Shanghai, HK) appears to be headed down, the opposite of up, this day, but as we are in pre-trading for the latter two cities and early hour Tokyo, the day might turn around

Should a down day in Asia be tagged by London and followed by New York, then we are in for it, a/k/a run, run fast, deep into the darkness, in the away direction, do not look back except from safe distance and only if far enough away to use the scope

In the meantime the kibitztariates on the internet slice and dice the fatality rates, anything between 2% of a larger base number to 17% of critical & dire

We can only be sure that the fatality rate 100% out off the folks who died, and no more than 100%

Meantime Kyle Bass seems to be exercising his liver excessively, but time shall tell

Coronavirus (N) update at 1100hrs HKT on Monday, Feb 10, 2020

THE GRAPHICS IN THIS DATA BASE HAVE NOT YET UPDATED TO INCLUDE MONDAY FEB 10.

Key Take:
The number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus(N) has now surpassed 40000 in China and 40500 globally.

Analysis
Between 1100hrsHKT on Monday, Feb 10, 2020 and our last update yesterday at the same time:
1. The number of new confirmed cases globally totalled 3000 up from 2675 during the previous 24 hrs. Total confirmed cases globally are now 40553.

2. In China Mainland new confirmed cases were 2973 up from 2652 Total confirmed cases are now 40171.

3. For China Mainland, according to preliminary data, subject to revision, total confirmed cases in Hubei province were 29631 and in other provinces and administrative regions 10540. In the most recent 24 hrs Hubei confirmed 2973 new cases compared to 2147 the previous day. Outside Hubei new confirmed cases reported were 442 down from 505. Several provinces have not yet updated their data. So the figure for provinces other than Hubei are subject to revision.

4. There were 27 new confirmed cases outside China Mainland down up from 23 the previous day. Total cases outside China Mainland are now 382. No new countries reported confirmed new cases. All of the countries reporting increases in confirmed cases are in Asia; Japan went from 89 to 96 (all related to the cruise ship quarantined in Yokohama); Hong Kong went from 26 to 36; Singapore from 40 to 43; Taiwan from 17 to 18; Malaysia from 16 to 17; S. Korea from 25 to 27; and Vietnam from 13 to 14. We have doubts about the accuracy of information concerning Coronavirus(N) from many poorer countries, including in this region, Philippines, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Cambodia, Myanmar etc.

5. Globally fatalities rose to 910 from 813 – all of the increase being in China (mainly Wuhan). Fatalities have risen from 908 to 722 in China Mainland. The fatality rate globally rose slightly overnight to 2.24% from 2.16%.

6. The number of people who have recovered globally is 3342 today, 8.2% of declared cases, compared to a revised 2152 yesterday.
