That's how he judges politicians in Washington. Who pretends to be a leader the best gets his nod.
Certainly image is key. A good leader has to keep up appearances.

But that's not why Brumar's post was so shocking.

If he actually knew scripture, he would know that pretending to be a Christian is a worse sin than honestly admitting you're not a Christian.

He would also know that the devil himself pretends to be a good Christian:

"For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve." - 2 Corinthians 11:13-15
